Statement of Faith

We believe:

1.      The entire Bible (Law, Prophets, Writings and New Covenant) is the Word of God and is our sole authority for all matters of faith and conduct.
(Deuteronomy 6:6-7, 8:3, 18:15-22; Joshua 1:8; Psalms 1, 19:7-11, 119; Isaiah 40:8; Jeremiah 31:31-34; Matthew 4:4; Luke 22:20; Acts 17:11; I Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 1:1, 4:12; James 1:25; I Peter 2:2; II Peter 1:20-21, 3:16)

2.      In one God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. This one God has revealed Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Genesis 1:2; 1:26; Exodus 3:6; Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 45:7; Isaiah 9:6, 48:16; Matthew 22:36-38, 28:19; John 1:1,14, 10:30, 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 8:6; II Corinthians 3:1,7; Heb. 1:2-9)

3.      Yeshua (Jesus) of Nazareth is the Messiah of Israel, L-rd and Saviour of the world, and the one and only Son of God. Yeshua was born of a virgin, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again from the dead on the third day. He has been exalted to the right hand of God and will return visibly and personally to judge and rule the world.
(Genesis 3:15; II Samuel 7:14; Psalms 2:7,12, 22:16-18; Proverbs 30:4; Isaiah 7:14, 9:6, 42:1-4, 52:13-53:12, 61:1-2; Jeremiah 23:5-6, 33:14-16; Daniel 9:24-27, 12:2-3; Micah 5:2-5; Zechariah 12:10; Matthew 1:1, 18-25, 24:27, 25:31-46; Luke 1:26-38, 24:25-26; John 1:1,14,29, 3:16, 14:3,6,9; 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10; Hebrews 1:3; Revelations 21:11-15)

4.      Man was created good, but chose to disobey God, and thus fell under God's condemnation. Salvation is initiated and accomplished by God alone and is applied to individuals through faith in Messiah Yeshua. True faith will always result in good works. While those who do not believe in Yeshua are capable of doing good works, these do not merit salvation. Man is incapable of saving himself.
(Genesis 1:26,31, 2:16-17, 3:17-19; I Kings 8:46; Is. 53:1-12, 64:6; Habbakuk 2:4; Matthew 7:22; John 3:16-18, 6:44, 14:23; Romans 1:17, 3:23-30; Ephesians 2:1-10; Titus 2:14; James 2:14-26)

5.      All true believers have been given the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) from God. Believers are empowered by the Holy Spirit for righteousness and ministry.
(Psalm 51:11; Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Acts 1:8, 2:4,33; Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:4-11)

6.      The Law of Moses is a precious gift from God to the Jewish people. It reveals to man God and His requirements for man, though specifically for the nation of Israel. While it was never a means for salvation, it was designed to lead people to the Messiah. In Yeshua, the Law is fulfilled. Under the New Covenant, the Law is written on the hearts of all believers.

No Mosaic ceremony should be imposed upon any believers in Yeshua. Jewish believers are free to express their faith in Yeshua through Jewish culture and religious ceremony. We deplore any suggestion that adherence to Jewish religious rites necessitates any notion of salvation by works.

7.      God's covenant with the people of Israel through Abraham has never been abrogated. Through faith in Yeshua non-Jews have been made fellow-heirs of the commonwealth of Israel. In Yeshua, Jew and Gentile are one. This does not preclude the continuance of the Jewish people and their distinctiveness in God's plan. This distinctiveness continues to exist in Yeshua without necessarily disturbing the unity of all believers.
(Genesis 12:1-3; Exodus 20:1-17; Psalm 19:7-11; Jeremiah 31:31-37; Matthew 5:17; Acts 15:19-21, 16:13, 18:18, 21:20-26, 28:17; Romans 3:21-30, 7:12, 9:4, 10:1-4, 11:28, 14:1-15:6; Galatians 3:19-22; Ephesians 2:8-22, 3:4-6; Colossians 2:16-27; Hebrews 7:12, 8:12, 10:1-18)

8.      At a time known only to God, all the dead of all the ages will be raised, the righteous to eternal life, the wicked to eternal contempt.
(Daniel 12:2-3; Matthew 24:36; Acts 23:6; I Corinthians 15:12ff; Revelation 20:11-15)

9.      The provisions of article 3 are unalterable.
